REVIEW & SWATCHES: Dior Vernis Nail Lacquer in 607 Blue Denim
Dior 607 Blue Denim is a new limited edition nail polish for fall which retails for $21 (10 ml or 0.33 fl oz). In the US, it seems to be a Nordstrom Anniversary Sale exclusive shade for now; while in other countries it is simply part of Dior Fall 2011 Blue Tie Collection. Blue Denim is a beautiful medium dusty blue nail polish with the slightest hint of indigo and very sparse silver sparkle. Different lighting will bring out the blue, indigo or grayness in this nail lacquer. The color may seem like nothing special, but it was actually quite hard to photograph accurately. It is a cream finish.
The formula was easy to work with, aside from my strictly personal dislike for the huge Dior nail polish brush —which a ton of people love. The first coat had excellent pigmentation but left some streaks so I used two coats to smooth out the surface and achieve opaque color. In case you are not familiar with Dior nail polishes here is a comparison of the brush against a Chanel nail lacquer brush.
I do not have many blue nail polishes in my stash. The closest color I could find was Dead Calm by Rescue Beauty Lounge, which is distinctively darker and has no shimmer. This of course does not mean there are no dupes for this particular varnish.
Blue Denim is a great nail polish in terms of formula and color. If you are in the market for a blue nail lacquer I recommend you take a look at this little guy.
